Minolite products result from multiple years of R&D to “upcycle” low-quality glass waste streams with a novel, unique & environmentally friendly technology.
Valunor was created in 2020, spinning off the core sphere technology, to further improve the process to industrial scale and create a sustainable business in Construction lightweight aggregate.

Charles Churet
President
Over 32 years at Dow Chemical. In 2008 he acquired distressed assets, and grew the business organically & and through multiple acquisitions creating Axson. In 2015 the BU were sold to Sika, PPG and Maeder. He now manages Oyat Invest AG, his family office. In November 2019 he led the re-incorporation of Minolite under Valunor AG and chairs the board of Directors.

History
The Company was established 2016 to perform a research programme for the development of an expanded glass granulate and to develop the nescessary production equipment. The program was supported by the Research Council of Norway as part of the SkatteFunn R&D tax scheme.
In 2018 the Company started to design and build a new kiln able to produce expanded granulates under close to zero gravity conditions by utilizing energy from renewable hydropower.
In 2020 a patent application based on the invention was filed.
