Global scale problems

Mandatory regulations across the world are enforcing increased glass waste collection & re-use. In order to reach the UN’s target of 100% by 2030 (58% in 2018), new technology is needed, which goes beyond increasing collection, in order to upcycle low-quality glass streams and avoid >16 million tons of waste per year ending up in landfill.

The construction industry is responsible for nearly 20% of all global CO2 emissions, one of the highest polluting sectors. They have committed to zero CO2 emission by 2050 and require innovative raw materials with better insulation properties in order to achieve their sustainability targets.
